The Path of Life by Richard - Becky Maisenbacher

You will show me the path of life: in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forever more.” Psalm 16:11

Our Current Path

I pray this finds you and family preparing for this special season of hope and light. Becky and I continue in our studies as well as organizing and condensing TCC documents. We have also finished our books and look forward to sharing about them when the publishing is completed. I have also enjoyed time taking an online course on Covenant through Dr. Skip Moen’s website. Proverbs 4:7 encourages us to “get wisdom and understanding.” I hope you will also continue in your pursuit of His truth and revelation which brings life to us all. Which reminds me that our Covenant U courses are again fully up and running for those interested. A big thank you to our tech team who were able to retrieve our teaching videos from a previous site. We apologize if this time lapse caused any delay to your studies and coursework.

Vision During Prayer

Recently, during prayer, as I asked the Lord, “What would you like me to share?” I was given a vision of a beautiful, well-lighted path. I knew God was directing and encouraging me to remain on His path of life. As I searched the scriptures regarding the word “path,” He highlighted Psalm 16:11. David wrote, “Thou wilt make known to me the path of life; In Thy presence is fullness of joy, and Thy right hand there are pleasures forever.”

In today’s unique and stressful culture, we are facing great transition in politics and government, technology, finances, education, entertainment, spirituality, church government etc.; which is stimulating at times, while also producing intense anger, protests, aggression, lawlessness and discourtesy, all from a root of pride. Personally, this verse, reminds me of His path of life - truly a welcome joy and reminder.

A Michtam of David

Psalm 16 is a Michtam of David. A michtam is a Hebrew term from the titles of six psalms (16, 56-60) that is believed to signify a precious, valuable, or “golden” psalm or type of inscription. It is a psalm that is considered so precious, it should be written and engraved on a tablet. Engraved of course suggests a “permanent” inscription or long-term preservation. It is considered a “golden psalm” due to being highly valued.

I love how God highlights and reminds us to not only take note but to also write out His word and allow Him to inscribe it on our hearts. The following scriptures found in Hebrews and Jeremiah, are a reminder that our heart, which includes our soul and mind, are also tablets. God writes upon our hearts, so we are always reminded of His goodness.

Hebrews 8:10: "For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws within them, and I will write them on their hearts, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people."

Jeremiah 31:33: "I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their heart."

Deuteronomy 11:18: "You shall therefore lay up these words of mine in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes.”

Proverbs 3:3: "Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them about your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart."

Psalm 16

David, in Psalm 16, exults the Lord, worshiping and declaring God as his portion, cup and inheritance, who counsels, protects, instructs him in the night season, brings joy and teaches him the way of living. He closes out his psalm declaring in verse eleven: “You will show me the path of life: in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forever more.”

The path of life glorifies God and fulfills His purposes. God’s ways are in the Torah, and it says Yeshua is the Word. If we desire to walk in the path of life, we can read and study His written Word, as we communicate with Yeshua in prayer through Holy Spirit. No wonder David was so encouraged! This is truly a golden psalm to write upon our hearts.

We will then experience fullness of joy in His presence and other pleasures forever from His right hand. This may seem very basic to Christians, but desiring the Path of Life will bring joy as we glorify Him; and we will experience an anointed, wonderful, intimate path with Holy Spirit! The Thanksgiving, Hanukkah and Christmas seasons, now upon us, are a great time to practice His presence as we thank Him that He and His word bring true life.

Prayer - Psalm 119:105: “Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light to my path.”

Father, we thank You and praise You for the many great mercies You extend to us every morning. Each new day welcomes the opportunity to know You and walk with You. In Your presence is not only fullness of joy, but also provision, peace, grace, love, redemption, restoration, revelation, mercy, lovingkindness and the fullness of the Godhead. As Jesus spoke, recorded in John 8:12 - I am the light of the world; he who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” Father, Jesus and Holy Spirit, reveal Your light and life in greater measure now and in the coming year, as we seek You and welcome You into our lives.
