A Call to Prayer: Watermelon in the WH by Rebecca Maisenbacher

A Call to Prayer: Watermelon in the WH

Dear Covenant Family and Friends,

I pray this finds you well and prospering in our Father and His word. He has given us a time of rest and refreshing which has been a sweet gift. We have also finished our manuscripts which are now being processed. Thank you for your support and prayers.

Also, please know our prayers for you have never ceased. We love and appreciate you. Prayer is like the oxygen we breathe. It is the intimate connection to God, filled with His life and love, revitalizing us with His fullness and very breath.

I recently received an unusual dream. There are many kinds of dreams and I’ve found that a majority of mine are for personal direction, revelation, and spiritual/character development. However, this dream was an alert, a calling dream to intercessors to focused prayer. I share this with you, my friends, for your consideration.

The Lord spoke today to release this to you, as Holy Spirit whispered: “The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.” James 5:16b.

Righteous – (1342) "dikaiosune" (δικαιοσύνη) In Hebrew, the concept of "dikaiosune" (δικαιοσύνη), which is often translated as "righteousness" in English, is primarily represented by the word צדקה (tzedakah). While צדקה (tzedakah) often refers to charitable giving or acts of righteousness, it also encompasses the broader concept of moral uprightness and justice that aligns with God's will.

Dream:

I found myself in the White House dining with our current president and first lady. There were many gathered at this exceptionally long dining table. The splendor of this majestic room did not mimic the actual room. The bright white walls radiated with heaven’s glory and majesty. It was all very grand.

Placed in front of all the guests were large white platters of watermelons sliced in quarters.  They were mountainous servings for everyone to enjoy. The melon was juicy, sweet, and succulent. Everyone at the table was joyful and appreciate of the gathering.

Shortly, several more people came to be seated, however the president declared: “We are going to need more watermelon.” Upon hearing his request, I spoke: “I can go get more melons for you and the guests.” They nodded in agreement to bring more for everyone.

Upon returning, I cut up the melons and placed them on the counter of a cabinet in large butler pantry hallway. The pantry was very long with two sides of cabinets. I placed them for their official workers to serve to the guest. I then awoke.

Watermelon: Holy Spirit words that bring forth a redemptive change. You are leaving a season of thirst and entering a season of refreshing.

White House: To dream of the official residence of the President of the United State of America, the highest office of power and authority in the world, indicates a call to prayer for the leader of our government to make wise and godly decisions.

Pantry (Butler): bread (word) closet or small room, that represents a person’s heart, located off the kitchen for spiritual and natural food storage, food preparation and cooking resources.

1st Timothy 2:1-4 (NASB):

First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in high positions, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”

Romans 13:1 (NASB):

Every person is to be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and those which exist are established by God.”

This seems a timely call for prayer, as our schools prepare to commence, with heightened conflict around the world and our nation. Please consider joining me in prayer especially for our leaders in government and in the church at large.

Prayer: Father, we thank you for your intel and guidance which calls your people to attention, alerting us to your desires and directives. We lift the leadership in local, state, and national government as well as those placed governmentally in your body. You desire to bring redemptive change to your people and creation. Please guide all leadership, to make wise and godly decisions. Bring refreshing, clarity and understanding. Surround them with wise counsel, safety, and provision that your perfect will may be accomplished.

Please also bless our covenant family Lord. Bring your favor, guidance, provision, dreams and visions, open doors and expansion, health, and life to each family, as we gather and dine at your table. In Jesus name. Amen.

P.S. Here are a few quotes regarding prayer from C.S. Lewis you may enjoy:

*“Find an experience fully God-centered, asking of God no gift more urgently than His presence, the gift of Himself, joyous to the highest degree, and unmistakably real.” (C.S. Lewis, Reflections on the Psalms)

*“I pray because I can't help myself. I pray because I'm helpless. I pray because the need flows out of me all the time, waking and sleeping. It doesn't change God. It changes me.”
C.S. Lewis
