Dear Covenant Family, Happy New Year and here we go! Each year brings gifts and challenges and 2011 was no exception. For some, it was a great year of breakthrough and for others it was sprinkled with disappointment. Life is full of mixture; sunshine and rain, winter wind and warm summer breezes. As we flow in and out of the seasons, we experience life like a finely woven tapestry full of color, with various elements and dimensions. And like the shepherds and three wise men, we daily press on in our journey to find God; His wisdom and His truth. He honors our desire to know Him more intimately and to better understand His ways by always faithfully walking beside us. When we first encounter God, we are filled with His love and encouragement. We experience incredible joy. We feel super human. Then, we enter a different season. We begin to experience moments of darkness, when His presence seems almost nonexistent. These are the days of maturing, where He teaches us to walk by His Spirit and His Word. In the darkness, our eyes and ears become more finely tuned and we begin to hear and see more clearly. We also begin to transition our hope in ourselves to our hope in Him. He becomes the God of Hope and His beautiful voice faithfully resonates with us as He guides us in new paths. As we set forth into 2012 may our eyes and ears as well as our hearts, remain focused and filled with anticipation, as we continue to place our trust in God. So now in this New Year, may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing that you may abound in hope, through the power of Holy Spirit (Romans 15:13). God bless and keep you, Richard and Becky Events at The Covenant CenterCathy Lechner - January 13 & 15
